How much lift do you have and still get under 5er?

How much lift do you guys have on your trucks and still fit under your 5er?
The trailer is a 37' Sierra with the axles flipped. (In my pics)
My 2001 has a 4" lift with 35" tires and it fits just fine.
I just bought a 2007 yesterday and I want to put 35's on it, but the guy at Offroad Parts said that with the new front end that I would have to go with a 6" lift??? (Is that true)
If I do the 6" lift will I still be able to get under my trailer?
I would like to hear from the guys that have done it, Thanks!
While your at it, I'd like to know if anyone has recomendations for lift on this new truck.

Re: How much lift do you have and still get under 5er?

I can't answer all of your questions but, I don't think you need 6" of lift to fit 35's. Maybe a 2-1/2" leveling kit. Eric. By the way sweet rig hooked up.

Re: How much lift do you have and still get under 5er?

for the 05 and up trucks you can fit 35's on stock wheels and stock suspension

that 4x4 shop is wrong

the 05 and up coil sprung trucks have alot more clearance for larger tires than previous years

keep in mind the trucks that come with 20's have about a 34" tire....

Re: How much lift do you have and still get under 5er?

Thanks for the feedback...i thought the guy at Four Wheel Parts was full of it.
i really like the way my 01 sits with the 4" lift and the 35s compared to my buddies trucks that have a leveling lit amd 35s, I would really like tl know how high I can go and still fit under my fifth wheel. I haven't seen too many new trucks running around lifted so I thought maybe you guys have already done it or seen some around.
thanks!

Re: How much lift do you have and still get under 5er?

Yes 35's should fit just fine. If you have any rubbage...just saw off part of the plastic on the bottom part of the bumper...or add a shim. Then you should not have any problems.
Good luck,
Steven

Re: How much lift do you have and still get under 5er?

You can lift your truck as high as you want, you will just have to lift the trailer more to match. I personaly wouldn't go over 4", but I see tons of trucks with 6" lift and 5ths.

Re: How much lift do you have and still get under 5er?

I don't see how anyone is doing a lift and towing a 5er. I couldn't lift mine one inch and still get under my 5er without risking my bedrails and I've already flipped the axles!!

Re: How much lift do you have and still get under 5er?

i pull a 35' weekeend warrior 5th wheel, and you can see my truck specs in the auto-sig...

all trailers are set up differently, so you really need to measure the height of your bed rails, and then go from there. the WW fits no problem, but i know of other toyhaulers that i could not have fit under.

would i recommend going up to 6"? probably not again, but next rig is a diesel pusher...
