I am towing a 7x16' enclosed will a spoiler on the top help
Hey guys,
Well I just purchased a 2008 Homestead enclosed trailer for my business. It weighs around 3500 lbs then we as around 1400lbs of tools. I am pulling it with my F350 stats below. All stock, and I am pulling a lot of interstate miles. I am getting around 10.5 mpg unless im driving around town alot. Would the wings on top of the trucks that I see help me out any on mileage? Ive seen them around for $800 and was wondering if it would be worth it? the trailer from the ground it 9' to the top. Just like a parachute. Well any help would be nice. After I invest in tires again I am going to start adding on upgrades to the engine, like intake, downpipe and possibly a programmer but not sure since I just turned 152000. Truck handles the trailer great I should say. Thanks guys in advance for your help.

If you want better mileage, make sure all the tires on the trailer are maxed out air wise, and that the truck tires are pretty close to that. Then slow down, and stay out of the turbo. I just drove 509.7 miles and put in 32 gallons of diesel. Pulling a 7x12 tandem axle with a total weight of around 5200 lbs. It was mixed highway, city driving. On the highway I stick to 1900 rpms max or 62-63 mph. Forget the spoiler.

ok no bug catcher it sounds bumper pull?? if it is get a cap that will help the wing thing dont help because of where it is on roof of truck just get a cap with a 1ft stepup to draft air over trailer this does work if you have a roof rack or something just make it fit over the cap
also a roof rack or anything above the trailer will reduce air flow lowering milege
