I have some Hotshot questions....

New to the boards and I enjoy reading them. I have driven "professionally" in the past but I do not want to drive big truck again. I really would like to set my self up Hot shotting out of Colorado. Are there any other companies to lease on to similar to Horizon transport out there? I do not care weather the load is Rv or a flatbed/Auto type load. If need be I can and will buy my own goose neck/wedge/step deck trailer. It's been a long time since I thought about going on the road again so I am just now in the learning phase. I also plan on staying in the pick-up pullers. I looked at M2's and kodiak's, but I am not sure I can get into one of them, YIKES! I have not picked a brand but I have built each of the three brands on their websites. I will be heading out to the dealers so those of you who drive these for a living post your thoughts or PM me. Thanks in advance guys.....

Re: I have some Hotshot questions....

I would stay away from hot shots right now. You can make a lot more money with the bigger trucks. We were running both pick up trucks and semis and we quit running the pick ups because we were starting to lose money. Right now there is not a lot of market for hot shotting. Big trucks, a lot of market for them. We still cant get caught up on the work. We are about 3 weeks behind and keep getting busier.

Re: I have some Hotshot questions....

Welcome to the site Starbreaker.

It's a bad time to get into the rv transport business. Times are tough, sales are down and work is getting slim.
If you're able to buy a gooseneck flat trailer and haul freight or cars that is what I would do. Buy a trailer with at least 40' of deck.
If you're interested PM me and I can give ya a phone number for a broker/dispatch service and a couple of website addresses that might be of help to you.
