Installing Air Bags with B&W Turnover

I just finished installing the B&W in my 97 F350 4x4 (Old body). It was a really nice install. Went smoothly and all that is left is getting a wrench to tighten the 1" bolts. I have Ride Rite bags ready to go on next. These are part number 2071. Several places told me these are the correct bags for the application. I haven't looked at them yet. Just wondering if there are any helpful tips or suggestions for putting in the bags. With the B&W side brackets, it looks like a lot of stuff to work around. Hopefully, some of you out there have done the same install and can give me some pointers. Thanks in advance.

Glenn,
You will blow through the install....2071's are easy to install and work great! I have them on my truck! Are you planning on running pnumatic switches in your cab? Let me tell that is the way to go. Here are the switches I mounted in my dash. Top switch is for front bags, bottom switch is for rear bag. Also made a gauge pod where my old trash bag holder thing used to be.

what I found out

When installing the air bags, remove the spare tire an you will have much more room to work.

thanks for the confidence. i don't have the superduty body, this is the old body style (box). with the side brackets of the B&W hitch installed, it doesn't leave a lot of space. I am assuming that to install the upper brackets, you have to drill through the b&w bracket and the frame, then bolt through both. i am hoping the large 1" bolt isn't in the way. should i try to leave the factory overload with the air bags? a friend said he had to take his off to get enough height between the upper and lower bag brackets. removing the overload gains about an inch or more of space. anyone have experience installing these on old body styles?

Firestone Bags

On my 2003 the only air bags that would fit with the B&W were the Firestones.

Be sure to order the air bags that are to be used with the B&W.

With all that said I'll say it again.........the only ones that worked for me were the Firestones with out regards to what was being sold to fit with whatever.

I am trying to get info on how people have gotten the ride-rite air bags to fit with the B&W turnover hitch installed. I know some have done it, just not sure how. Everyone keeps answering with there experience with the new style Super Duty trucks. I have the older style truck. The frames are entirely different and require different part numbers for both hitch and air bags. Can someone help me out??? I appreciate the input, it just needs to be in reference to the older style trucks.

I have the Firestone bags. They are the Ride-Rite brand. I guess I just need to dive in and make it work. Thanks

I used Ride Rite Model 2398

I have a B&W Turnover and the Companion 5th wheel hitch./ I believe these are the only ones that would work on my truck.
