Installing trailer brakes?!?!!?

Howdy... I found a decent open trailer for a decent price... but it has.... No brakes!!!!! Anybody had any experience putting any on? What about surge brakes? Just wondering how hard and expensive it would be?!?

Electric brakes would be easiest. If your axles have the flanges on them it is a simple matter of buying kits to add the brakes. If not, either buy axles with brakes (chance to upgrade your axles if you need to) or weld the flanges on.

You can check the manufacturer of your axles and go from there.
