are lockers bad for towing?

I've got to get some traction out of my one-wheel-drive truck. I've always heard lockers are bad for towing but limited slips are gutless. We will be towing up to 10k on a daily basis-some highway, some off road stuff but mainly city stop and go. We do not get any snow or ice but lots of rain so factor that into your answer. Give me the good, the bad and the ugly of aftermarket LSD and lockers in a towing application.
Oh yeah...the 3.73 is going bye bye when they crack the diff to add whatever you guys tell me to get. Thanks.

I put a detroit trutrac in my 05. It has no driveabilty issues and works great. It also never wears out.

Re: are lockers bad for towing?

I've got a Detroit Locker in my 72, and I have pulled a lot of weight with it quite a few times. Other than the ratcheting noise when you go around a corner, I don't have any issues with mine. Just make sure you have a spare that matches. Lockers don't like mismatched tires.
