I'm looking for the highest weight rated tires and wheels I can find to fit my truck. I currently have a set of Toyo 295/70R17s on Allied wheels. The tires have enough load capability... at 3970 lbs. But the wheels are only rated at 3420 lbs. My truck when fully loaded with camper and snowmobile trailer is about 7900 on the rear axle. I looked at the 19.5" kits from Rickson but they can't make any aluminum wheels for 4-6 months due to a problem with their aluminum supplier. So I'm looking for other alternatives. I'd like to have tires/wheels rated for 4500 lbs or so if possible. Prefer a polished aluminum round or oval hole wheel.
Thoughts and advice are appreciated. (Not looking for a lecture about being over the axle rating).
How much lift do you have? If you can fit the tires under your truck you can get the adapters to put 8- or 10- hole semi-truck wheels on and use lo profile semi truck tires.
Any semi-truck wheels you get will be rated accordingly and be stronger than you need.

I've only got a 3.5" level kit. I don't want to go much taller than 33.5" or 34" so it doesn't rub and more importantly so I can stop when I hit the brakes! thanks
Yeah, they can't make aluminum wheels for 4-6 months due to a supplier problem. That's the news as of today. They have powder coated steel ones but those look dumb in my opinion.
thanks
try to consider a smaller sized semi trailer tire you could look at a semi sized moving van trailer

That's what I did yesterday. 08 Dodge 4x4 Cummins. Can't believe I'm joining the dark side and buying a Dodge! Yuck! It was $15K cheaper than a "comparable" 08 F350 Dually, invoice to invoice. Oh well, I'm still a Ford fan at heart. I wore my Ford Racing shirt to the Dodge dealer when I bought it. Ha ha
You needed stronger tires so you replaced the truck?!
He needed a higher GVWR and new that stronger tires was not the solution. As for the OP, with a large camper in the bed the dually will have much more stability as well as increased GVWR.

Enjoy the new truck .
When I bought I looked at Ford, GM & Dodge. At that time I paid about $8K less than a comparable Ford or GM. There are some things I prefer with Ford (locking hubs, nicer rear seats) but I don't like them $8K worth .
So far (12K miles) the Cummins and G56 6 speed have performed flawlessly.
