Gentlemen,
I recently bought a 2001 PSD dually 4x4, right now it has BFG All Terrain Radials in a 285-75-16 size. They look absolutely cool, but I'm relatively sure they are too big for a dually. I've noticed the truck dosen't have spacers, and the tires literally touch in the rear at the bottom where they flare out when contacting the road. I believe I'm correct in assuming I'll have to go down to a smaller size, but how much smaller? Do you think I can get away with a 265-75-16E? Or is it all the way back down to the stock 235-75-16E? Thanks - Tom

255's are the biggest you can go without spacers on the rear. With your 285's you will need spacers or in time you will have a blow out!
I have 295's with a 2inch spacer...love the look and will probably go bigger down the road. You have 2 options, spacers or new tires. Spacers will be cheaper and will allow you to keep the look youve got and like.
If you get a spacer get one that is hub centric and wheel centric so the spacer sits on the hub and the outer wheels sit on the spacers lip and not the studs (safer!)
Good luck

If they did, it would be about 2" wider and 3" less diameter and 84 more revs/mile than stock LT235/85R16E tires. Low-rider tires, maybe, but not for a pickup that's good for hauling or towing.
didnt no never looked just a suggestion or somin smaller and a little less wide

If your tires are already touching they are probably already ruined. When they touch they wear away the sidewalls on both tires, it makes a concave round groove in the sidewall. (I had this experience on an old F-350 wrecker that had oversized tires plus overloaded which made the sidewalls kiss).
Pull both sides off and check them before committing to buying spacers.
