no power at the plug

The pin that charges the trailer battery in my 7 pin plug does not have any power to it. the wire goes into the plug and the fuse is not blown.
I am going to start tracing the wire, does anyone know the typical area were the wire may be cut or not connected?

Thanks Kevin

Re: no power at the plug

Could sound simple, but did you have the key to the run position (truck running) when you checked?

EDIT... Also you have a relay for charging.

Re: no power at the plug

That was going to be my suggestion. Sometimes it will only charge when the tow rig is running.

I always change mine so it will charge all the time.

Re: no power at the plug

did it work before?

if not did you check to see if the relay is there?

and if it did, did you check to see that the relay had not died?

In addition to a Trailer fuse, there is also a trailer relay, I believe it plugs in next to the under hood fuse box in a separate receptacle attached to the fuse box.

Re: no power at the plug

I had a chance to look at the truck tonight, and here is the what I found. Next to the power dist. box on the driver's side under the hood. there are two smaller boxes, I found one closest to the fire wall to be empty
it should have two relays in it, they power the trailer battery charge pin and the other I believe is for trailer b/u lights.

Thank you all for the help
