No Trailer Brakes?!?!

Hi
i have the built in trailer brakes on my truck... i hooked up a 30ft flatbed trailer loaded with four wheelers and headed down the road to find out that the brakes on the trailer werent working... My buddy towed it before me and says they worked fine on his truck... so that leads me to believe its something with my truck...the question i have is how can i fix this... and quick ... we are leaving friday... i believe i checked the right fuses and they seem to be fine... HELP!!! thanks

Does your TBC have the green trailer icon -meaning properly connected or the red icon?

What is the gain set at?

Did you test the trailer brakes manually (using the TBC)?

Check the connection from truck to trailer, I just scraped a bunch of corrosion out of mine (on the truck side) for my trailer brakes to work. Good luck

I had to run larger brake wires on my trailer. I could put the controller on 10 and one wheel would barely work. Since I rewired it works great. Had someone tell me they ran larger wires on their truck. The longer and heavier trailers pull too many amps through the small wires.

I believe the wires on the truck are sufficient. I pull a tandem axle utility trailer behind my 5er and all 5 axles work well.
