hat is the limit for pulling in overdrive? Is it ok as long as it isn't shifting in and out. I am talking about 6000# to 9ooo# range on a equipment trailer not much wind load. Fairly flat here in Florida.

Trans temp gauge is an excellent idea to see how hard the tranny is working, as is the exhaust temp which will let you keep tabs on how hard the engine is working. As for towing in overdrive, you need to be aware of the transmission hunting between 3rd and OD, if it starts shifting back and forth then lock OD out until you get to flatter ground. As long as it is not you are fine in OD.

Are most guages the same? I am not a tightwad but I also don't like to pay for a name if the quality isn't any better. What would be a good set of guages.

I would check with sponsors here on the site, there are several who sell gauges and pods. As for quality, if you pay for junk you often get junk and that can apply to gauges. If you find some that are less than half what name brand are I would question the quality. There is no need to get the digital display, flame decorated, multi-color backlight with flashing LEDs around the gauge openings (Elton John style), in my opinion a decent quality analog gauge is your best bet.
