Pin Box add-ons

Hey guys, I was wondering what the intel is on Pin Box add-ons such as extensions (I have a shortbed) as opposed to a slider hitch or maybe a Gooseneck conversion (again with an offset for the shortbed issue).

Is there any detriment with these set-ups and if so, what are they?? Is there a prefered method (besides a slider).

I guess I just wanted to keep my bedspace as I haul motorcycles a lot and don't want to have to keep putting in the slider hitch over and over.

Thanks,
Dave

The biggest draw back to pin box extensions and goose neck adapters, is most fifthwheel trailer manufacturers will void the frame warranty. This due to the fact that the fifthwheel frame is generally not designed for the added leverage/stress of the extension/adapter.

A phone call to the trailer manufacturer would be in order. Some will OK the extension/adapter, most will not.

Good luck.
