Plans for Hydraulic ramps?

Does anyone have any plans or diagrams or pics to fabricate hydraulic ramps, for a 36 ft tandem trailer? The trailer has a dovetail or slope although I dont know the degree on the back. I am also interested in adding hydraulic jackstands and would appreciate any pics ,diagrams, etc. I have noticed that the larger dropdeck trailers that haul large heavy equipment usually have the shape of 1/2 of an enlongated diamond and the hydraulic cylinders appear to be the only thing that keeps the ramps from flexing while loading and unloading. I have also seen conventional ramps rigged with hydraulic cylinders also. Any thoughts, pics, info appreciated.

Duh, took me a minute, but I know of the type you're talking about. An easier design to fab up might be the type that's a "non-jointed" ramp and the hyd cyl just raises the ramp straight upright during travel, and when loading, lowers the ramp to the ground. I drove a lo-bed semi for a number of years and it had that type. Seems like the unextended cylinders were maybe 2 1/2' long. What powered the two rams was a DynaMite (brand name) unit which is a self contained small hydraulic unit powered electrically by what looks like a starter motor which is mounted to the end it's small hyd tank. They're the type used for raising/reversing snow plows on trucks that don't have a PTO driven hyd pump setup. It worked real well on the real heavy ramps. The tricky part would be figuring out your correct ram mounting points so they went up and down smoothly. To bad you can't find one around to copy the exact design and measurements.
