Prodigy Controller in 2000 SD

Hello all,
Just a quick question, I'm getting ready to install a prodigy controller in my father-in-laws truck and he has a 2000/CC/SD with the trailer tow package. My question is, did all trucks with the trailer tow package come pre-wired with the plug under the dash for the brake controller installation? Thanks in advance for your replies.

Re: Prodigy Controller in 2000 SD

I am pretty sure they all did. However there was a Relay and some other minor stuff that has to be placed in the main Power box under the hood to activate it all. And may or may not be in there in this truck your doing. So don't get worried if it does not fire up right away when you find the plug under the dash and plug in the Prodigy. those things may still need to be done.

The plug your looking for was under the drivers side, up under the dash and then look and over near the radio.

If you still have the little packet with the stuff to activate it then the relays should be there too. They come with the pigtail. But if your going from scratch you might need to get those items from Ford to complete it. Its the only one will fit the plug end.

I am trying to recall from memory what things are plugged in besides the Harness. Its been a while. But I do think I have that install instructions somewhere..... can find it if you need it.

Buy the Plug-N-Play harness for the Protogy, plug it in. There are2 relays under the hood and 2 or 3 30amp fuses unndr the hood too. If you have everything, it's literally a 5 min. job.

Re: Prodigy Controller in 2000 SD

I agree with the plug and play connector. Also, I found that I could get to mine easiest by removing the little trash bag hook to the right of the cubby and reaching across. I assume the 2000 is the same.
