I've been doing as much reading as I can, but still can't seem to tell which one I want. The brakesmart can't be had by the time I need it, so..... I'd like some input from folks that have had both. Which one do you favor? What are the likes and dislikes of both?
I'm going to be pulling an 8ton armored vehicle on a 32' gooseneck and don't want to be dealing with "grabby" brakes or any of those wonderful characteristics.

I have had two Prodigy controllers and was not very happy with either. I have the Brakesmart and like it quite well. The Jordan receives great reviews with the comment that it is a little more difficult to install and set up than the Prodidgy but works well. Good luck on your choice.

I'd go with the Jordan. I've heard the hard to hook up stories too. I installed one in my daughters truck over a year ago, The install was easy and it has never given her a problem. The best part about it is she doesn't have to worry about adjusting it for whatever trailer she is hooked to. The adjustments are made on the initial installation and then forget about it.
The problems that I've read about is the cable hookup from the controller to the brake pedal. Some had cables that would get hung up or stuck. I think it may have been due to their controller mounting location. I mounted my daughters in the covey hole. I had drilled a hole in the back of the covey hole to run the cable through and it worked great.

Like Down South...mounted in the cubby hole and never looked back. I had a Prodigy and removed it after one trip...sold it in a garage sale for $15.00 and put in a Jordan 2020...never loked back. If you have the adjustable pedals be sure and tell them you need the it fro adustabel pedals.

[/ QUOTE ]With that kind of load, you need trailer brakes that work. Air/vacuum/electric over hydraulic activated disk brakes. The BrakeSmart works great with this system. Call MasterBrake to find out when their updated hydraulic pump system will be available.
