Does the Prodigy have a manual brake on feature,or only automatic operation?I need a controller that has a manual brake on also ,but I want a good unit.I am using a Drawtite activator ll but this is my second unit in 2 years.
Prodigy has a manual activator 'lever' on the underside of the unit which is a manual override that will activate the brake. Part of the set up procedure is driving on level ground at approx. 25 mph and activating the lever. I've appreciated my prodigy [replaced a cheap drawtite] - biggest issue for me is keeping the contacts on my round male goose wiring connector [and the female connector mounted in the side of the bed] clean & tight, so the controller has a chance to work!
I just had the Prodigy installed two weeks ago. My wife towed a couple of horses (400 miles), said it worked great.
Extra features are nice if you are hauling heavy (heavy) 5th wheels and such. Ours is a simple application, but still wanted the best quality controller.

The manual knob deal to just use the trailer brakes like on a semi is really nice, use it all the time, love my Prodigy, recommend it to anyone looking for a decent prices controller.
