I bought a 2002 F350 4wd dsl. The factory hitch is only rated for 12.5k. (and its hard to find actual hitch rated at over 10K..) If I was only going to haul 10k I would use the half ton truck.
So I looked at Brute II ($775 plus shipping/instal and DMI (didn't get price back but likely more)
I had a idea.
My 1989 F250 has a DMI hitch. Measurements between frame is same. Does anyone know if its just location of bolt holes that is changed (so I don't have to buy new brackets) If its just bolt holes I can get that done. (maybe someone has template they can copy on paper)
I hauled a SMALL load today. When I weighted loaded/empty I found cargo was 15k alone.......
