Hey guys, I have a crewcab 6.0 diesel F250 and it has a tow package on it. But, I looked at a freinds crewcab F250 2 wheeldrive it had a rear swaybar and also tow package. I don't have a swaybar on my rear. Is this normal or not. I only towed 2 times since have the truck. I tow a car trailer with a mustang on it. Probally 4000 pounds. Should I be concern about this or not. Thanks

If you need a sway bar, you'd know it in the seat of your pants. Usually, a high center-of-gravity load like a camper will make a truck lean heavily to the outside of a turn. A anti-sway bar will help keep the truck from leaning like this. My camper truck has one and I love it. Before putting it on, I felt like I was about to slide off my seat going around turns. No more.

Just wondering why my truck didn't come with a rear sway bar. I have tow package on it.

Dont know on 04, but 03 (like mine) had to order the Camper Pkg. to get rear sway bar (SRW) Heavy front springs (dont recall, but may already come w/6L?) & Camper cert. TT Class V hitch was also option.
As mentioned, w/overhead slide in camper which are top heavy, f/r sway bars help alot. Can't say for sure what/if any diff. its makes when Im towing. Did know for sure w/my BF slide in.
I ordered my truck for towing. Really, I added the tow bar and mirrors, all the other towing equipment is considered standard. The sway bar was part of the camper package. With the short bed, I had no intention (or ability) of putting on a big slide in. I have not seen a need for the sway bar. But, my fifth wheel is only about 25 foot.

Thanks guys, I don't think I need a sway bar. I tow about 4000 pounds and the truck seems fine. I guess if i was to put a camper on it would be different story . Thanks again.
