I have an open tandem axle car trailer. Right now I have four car tires on that are dry rotted. Could anyone recommend a suitable tire for my trailer? Does it pay to get a tire/wheel combo? My tire size right now is a 205/75-15. The tire looks small inside the fender and was wondering if I could put a 225/75-15 on. The other reason I want to put the bigger tire on is to level out my trailer.
I don't use the trailer often. I was also thinking about putting some LT tires on. The furtherest I go is from NJ to KY and back.
I run radial car tires on my race car trailer and have ran them for the last 15 yrs on 3 different trailers. Have never had a problem running them on several other types of trailers over the years for loads under 6k.
