I have looked at a couple of WD hitches and the Reese Strait-Line Hitch System 1200 seems to be a comprehensive package. Is there any experiences out htere with it? If not any recommendations?
Other related items being added - I just received the Firestone bags and hellwig bar, and am looking for the best deal on some V/B springs.

What are you towing? I used to have the Reese Dual Cam and it worked pretty well. Now I have a Hensley Arrow and can say for certain there is no better hitch for weight distribution and sway control.

I wanted to see what the X gen had to say first about the Reese. I will be towing my Bronco. So with the trailer (being built - maybe ready by the 17th), the bronco, and trail gear I will pushing upto if not slightly over 10K. The trailer is 12K equipment trailer with a few customization for a more vehicle friendly setup. The bronco is a pig with all the skid plating, roll cage, tires/wheel, etc.. and sits relatively high even with the little tires on it. With that in mind, the new dual cam setup reads and looks like a pretty clean solution.
If that is all you are towing, the Dual Cam will be more than enough hitch for you. We wanted more sway control so we replaced our Dual Cam with a Hensley. Sway shouldn't be a problem since you aren't pulling a really long trailer with tall flat sides like an RV.

We too switched from a Reese Dual Cam to a Hensley Arrow. Man what a difference pulling our 30' TT. Wish I done so sooner!

I have a 28' TT and do not have any sway control system at all just a weight distributing hitch setup. Sway is not a problem for me but my guess is that it's probably not a problem because the trailer sits 8 foot high and so does the tow vehicle so there is no wind resitance.

My concern is the Bronco sits high (even with little tires on it) and even snatched down hard still has some suspension movement (not much). So with the Bronco sitting high it catches a lot of wind. I had a good pucker episode pulling it back up from Fla a while back after passing a semi (a real slow moving one). Part of that problem was weight distribution, but I most certainly do not want to go through that again.
I've checked out the Hensley and it looks and reads like a very system as well (not to mention a little less costly than the Reese assembly with the new cams).
I dont see how a Hensley system is less costly than a reese system. The Hensley system is at least $3000 new.

I caught that minor detail on checkout. There is a huge difference between 295.00 and 2995.00. What a goof! :-)
With that in mind the $500.00 or so I'm going to try the Reese system. The Hensley certainly looks to be a very quality and well engineered product, but before I invest 3k I see what I acheive with the Reese. Yep a little difference bewteen $500 & 3K.
Thanks (and feeling a bit like the court idiot at the moment, but grateful I didn't hit confirm),
