Ride Rite Air Bags

Im sure its warn out like alot of other things but I was looking for some pics of them mounted, it would be nice to see on the older body style. Also anything else to know about them, such as how heavy you have hauled with them at what PSI, just trying to get all the info I can about them, thanks.

Re: Ride Rite Air Bags

I run Ride Rite air bags. I pull a 28 foot travel trailer and usually put about a 1/3 of a bed of firewood in the front of truck bed along with my 60lb. dog who likes to jump around and bark the entire trip. I put about 65 to 70 psi in my bags along with running a weight distributing hitch. I leave enough pressure on the hitch to allow the bars to work. Truck is basically level when hooked up to trailer, which makes it easier to drive and allows headlights to aim where they're suppose to. As the supply of firewood dwindles I adjust pressure to the bags to maintain proper hitch load. I used to pull the trailer without them and I can definately tell an improvement with them. Sorry, I don't have any pics. The worst part of the install was removing rear wheels. The aluminum had seized to the steel hub. Not an uncommon problem. After removal, I used a Dremel to clean the contact areas and applied anti-seize. Also, if you park in a garage, be sure to lower pressure so as not to hit the roof on the door opening. Without trailer I run 20psi.

Re: Ride Rite Air Bags

I run Ride rites, empty at 5 to 10 lbs, with the boat or livestock trailer and slide-in camper about 70 to 80 lbs, with 3200 to 3500 lbs of sand or gravel 80 lbs,
with 1 ton of hay on the truck and 3 tons on the trailer (plus the trailer weighs 2400 lbs) 90 lbs. The trailer has a pintle hitch so I keep tongue weight fairly high so total weight on truck including passengers and stuff is close to 4000 lbs.

Re: Ride Rite Air Bags

Sounds like they are pretty good bags, do the mounts get in the way of say a B & W Turnover?

Re: Ride Rite Air Bags

this ebay auction shows a decent photo of them mounted:

It is a very nice setup. I had them on my F150. And will be installing them on my 250 soon.
