Re: Right turn signal

Sounds like the trailer, or the plug on the truck is wired incorrectly.

My bad, read right over where you said it. I must say I've never encountered I problem like that before. In my experience with airbrakes, the brakes are pretty much isolated from anything having to do with the wiring in the truck. I don't have any idea what would cause using a turn signal to actuate the trailer brakes on a trailer with airbrakes.

Re: Right turn signal

He's obviously low on turn signal fluid, common with that model.

Re: Right turn signal

Probably never changed over the brake system from winter air. Ford went to "all-season" air in 2004, but I hear it's sourced from China and isn't compatible with the factory turn signal fluid.

HTH !

Re: Right turn signal

Make sure he his moving the right ARM to actuate the turn signals! Sounds like he is pulling down the "Johnny Bar" (trailer brake control on steering column) for right hand turns

Seriously, something sounds screwed up. Both systems are independent of each other. NO way a turn signal can actuate the treadle pedal!
