Roadside Assistance for Horsemen/women

I have heard a number of horror stories about people with horse trailers being refused service for their tow vehicle (too large, we don't cover duallies, livestock etc. etc.) or trailer when disabled. When I asked one of the big RV plans whether they would cover an empty horse trailer or tow vehicle they said flat out "You are not covered". So I was pleased to see a recent ad for www.USRider.org which provides roadside assistance and other benefits to members with horses/trailers and tow/non-tow vehicles. Has anybody had any experience with this program? Since it duplicates AAA service in non-tow vehicles, I could drop a membership and gain coverage. TIA Haulin'

Re: Roadside Assistance for Horsemen/women

AAA sucks!!!

I had to scream and holler to get them to tow my F450 they said it was to big and was not covered. I even had the RV plus package which means they will tow a huge RV but not my F450. After 10 minutes of screaming on the phone (where my wife counted 5 "F" bombs in a single sentance) they decided to tow me. This was of course my 5th phone call to them from my cell.

I was towing 3 horses at the time but I had a friend coming for the trailer.

I have heard good things about US rider and now have them. I heard that they will tow you out of a field if needed. AAA will not go off road.

I have not had a chance to use tham but I will never use AAA again.

Re: Roadside Assistance for Horsemen/women

I replied about this on the last thread that got archived. This is a great plan. I hate AAA, my company has it. It took them 5 hours to drag our 6.9 IDI across town. I hate seeing people stuck with their trailers esp. when they have horses. Not only is it stressful of the people but esp on the animals that are already stressed due to being transported. A very dangerous situation. I'm always willing on giving a hand or a push/pull for anyone who is stuck wheter it be on the side of the road or in the mud.
