Second Prodigy Question

The used '99 F-250 I purchased previously had a brake controller installed. Unfortunately, the unit was removed, or should I say hacked out of the truck, at some point prior to my first viewing. Without an owners manual, or any helpful information in the Chilton manual I bought, I have no way of knowing if I need to purchase an auto-reset circuit breaker. Can anyone help me out here? Also, any general knowledge of which wires provide the signals for the controller would be appreciated.

Thanks for all the help so far!

Re: Second Prodigy Question

Look at the Tekonsha web sight and ther is a link for the Prodigy. There is a lot of very good info there.

Re: Second Prodigy Question

There is a factory brake controller connector under the dash above the gas pedal about where your right knee would be. Just buy the correct harness to go from the brake controller to the vehicle connector and plug it in and go. Here is the one for Tekonsha it couldn't get any easier..

Re: Second Prodigy Question

It does have a 30 amp fuse in the fuse box under the hood also. At least there is one on my 2001.

Re: Second Prodigy Question

Installed the Prodigy yesterday. What a breeze! I bought the harness described and found the connector right where it was described by Lightning. Plug one end into the OEM harness, the other end into the prodigy and the installation was complete. All told, I was in and out in under five minutes!
