has anyone ever used one of these? if so, with what results? and also if so, is there water running the whole time the unit is connected?
thanks, kevin

Kevin, Yes I have one and am using now as a full timer in our 38' Beaver MH. I have 2 set ups one each winter and summer locations.
I also use it traveling. It is clean, compact and convienent. Yes and no as to water usage. No water is required for down sloped draining of the gray water tank. Water is required for draining the black water tank. The nozzle produces a high velocity stream that breaks up tissue and solids but most of the time it will drain with out. How much as to volume I really don't know. I have runs as long as 80' using 1" pvc pipe down sloped. Bets the heck out of the stinky slinky but it is good insurance to have water available. Takes a bit longer than the 3" hose, but alot cleaner. Won't go with out it.
Drain the black first then chase it with the gray.
Any other ???'s

yep, i have always drained black then grey. that is another think i had a question about but you answered it. you dont have to buy thier extension hoses, you can actually use normal pipe. i was thinking of using rigid hose from a hardware store...... looks like the same stuff.....
thanks for the reply,
kevin

Two thumbs up here!! Never leave home without it. As stated it is longer to dump but you aren't fightin a 3" stinky slinky and tryin to rinse it out. Yes you do need water for the solids with a min. I think of 15psi. Once you dump the solids, then the gray you let some good old fresh water flow through for even a cleaner wash out. I have virtually no smell from the 1" hose.
My bro-in-law, who travels with us in his 5'ver, bought one, used it a couple of times, and went back to a regular sewer hose. Not sure why.

I have one & it's great because I can dump my tanks ay home. Just put the output hose into a plumbing cleanout on the side of the house & it's done. Lots better than trying to find a dump station.

no dirty hands.....so this thing ataches itself ...turns on the water and pulls the dump valves......then when you are all done ...it's totally clean...when you are finished using it would you put it in the truck with you ...maybe under the seat ???? or do you still store it in a plastic bag......dot dumping on any of you....but it seems the same....i put on disposable rubber gloves....hook the dump hose ....and let rip...fiill the black through the toilet let rip again ,,,then gray ...quick rinse ...and finished....this thing is easyer than that...i must be missing something ......

Yes it is easier than that. All I do is stand outside and watch, no going in and out to fill. I've modded mine so I can back flush/fill. I'll be the first to admit it does take a bit longer and is no where near the mess and headache that the 3"er is(IMHO). Don't have to worry about pin hole leaks, fighten to clean the hose out, and puttin it away. And yes I would be able to store under the seat without any smell. As a matter of fact I store mine in my TT storage bin.
I am convinced I am going to look at one at the new Camping World here in Indy.....Heck if it is slow, no problem, by the time I get every thing down and put away it should be done right.....

Planned upgrades are a new and better turbo and larger exhaust pipes than the 21/2s that are already under the rig/ would like a 6 spd tranny but dont know if that is a feasable or smart investment yet.

the thing is great. .So far one road trip on this rig, but it beats the heck out of the regular sewer dump setup I've had on other trailers.
Aside from all the previously mentioned benefits, I can dump into my septic tank at the house, 70ft away and 3ft up from the trailer dump. it takes a while but it works like a charm. I store it in one of those huge ziplock vacuum storage bags in one of the side boxes on the trailer. I do keep a stinky slinky in the rear bumper just in case I have to dump with no water pressure available, but haven't had to use that one yet. And no, it does not smell after flushing it clean. I did buy the extra 10ft extension just incase I get a spot that the fittings aren't close enough.

I love mine too. What they charge for it is out of control, but intelectual property is not cheap, it seems.
I drain mine into the clothes washer drain (obviously not thru the washer), since my cleanout has been frozen shut since 1964 when the house was built. It works like a charm.

They say it can pump from ground level up three feet, and something like 50 feet thru a one inch pipe. That is what they claim.
I have four 10 foot lengths of one inch pvc, plus the stock hose. At the end of that I have a little less than four foot rise to get it to the washer drain.
So to answer your question, if you have decent house water pressure, and the rise is under four feet, I would say yes. Now if it is one of those really high bathroom windows I would look for a different option. But you never know, it may work, but slowly. Try it and find out. But use the gray water in case it can't pump it up the rise when you test it out.

Would this thing have enough force to pump up through a window and into a bathroom toilet?
[/ QUOTE ]
Chances are your drain under your toilet has a cleanout plug in the vacinity. It would probably be more practical to find that and add an extension piece to get it outside the house where you could hook into it easily.
