Gents, I have a question about tandem dually trailers. Currently, I have a 7ton gooseneck equipment trailer with tandem singles towed by my F350. I'm thinking about upgrading to a heavier trailer with tandem duallies. How does the tanden dually handle as far as making turns, backing up, etc. The single I have is pretty easy to maneuver around the parking lot. Thanks. P.S. My truck is single wheel longbed.
My opinion, when loaded the duals pulls much better than the singles. It just feels more stable to me. However, when empty, it pulls worse as the extra tires make the trailer very bouncy over any pavement that isn't smooth as glass. That being said, if yours is an equipment trailer that is loaded all of the time, I say no question, go for it.
The dually trailer will be better at short radius turns as the specific weight on tires is less and this makes the tires tolerate that abuse better. The sscrubbing is easier on the duallies' tires.
The bigger benefit is the brakes. Dually axles have much larger brakes compared to singles and stop better as a result, at least this is true for electric brakes axles.

I just bought a new 32ft Dexter dual tandum and it pulls alittle harder empty than my single tri-axle. Loaded, WoW what a difference in stability vs a SRW about the same as going from a SRW to DRW pick-up as it really pulls nice.
I would check around SE of Dallas TX, as even with deliverly you can't beat there prices. However most mfg do not keep inventory so order early as I found some running behind 4wks.
I just got back from picking up a IH-706D and a Farmall MD with hydraulics. About 31k GCW on the way home. With 10k Dexters, 12-1/4"x4", I can trim my speed on a 7% down grade without using my F350 brakes. The Dexter 12k have 12-1/4" x 5" brakes. Both are forward self adjusting.

Buy UNION work UNION. It pays off in the long run Define Union: A labor Union is nothing more than united workers with a common goal for better working conditions.
We all are in some sort of labor Union, some are just larger than others with better working conditions!
you definetly wont regret going to the tandem duals. Its a whole lot better handling. The trailer doesnt steer the truck around like the single axle would. The brakes are also a huge benifit.
