ok i know drw is better on weights and general strength but i have a question what would be better srw or drw?
i currently have a drw axle with srw on it works fine and i like it but i plan to someday build my own stake body because the bed is very impracticle for what i haul. would it be better to go drw? i see a lot of higher weight ratings and a lot more features on drw setups online.
is this because the drw axle is rated more or is it because the srw setup is just bad?
i plan to build in a gn hitch and maybe make it a hydrolic dump too
so i plan to haul large loads will drw increase stability too?
and i realy am a srw person if i could go that way but id change if its beter.
and most importantly has anyone tried this before?
and if so anytips?

A dually will be better for weight and stability though you do sacrifice some of your turning radius. The axle on a dually is rated higher because you have a Dana 80 instead of the Sterling that comes on the SRW. I would have liked a dually if I had found the right one when I was looking. I think SRW trucks with a stakebody just look funny. If you put the stakebody on, pay the extra and make it a dump. It increases resale and you won't believe how useful it can be. That's what we did with our 78 International(we made ours a dump). Wouldn't think twice about doing it again.
sounds good i have a dana 80 with srw right now i need the turning radius small town and my driveway is on an alley
but a is there a difference with the same axle?
and i plan to make it a dump
