SuperGlide or Manual

I have a short bed and the trailer mfg says I will void the warranty if I use a hitch extender. So is the SuperGlide worth the extra $1K over a manual slider?

Of course.

You need to back up into a jacknife? No sweat. Just do it. The SuperGlide will take care of you.

Does your rememberer sometimes not work too good? If you forget to slide a manual slider before you back up, you just may have an expensive lesson learned from forgetting that one time. But with the SuperGlide, there is nothing to remember - it's automagic.

Of course, the best is rarely cheap. And the PullRite SuperGlide 5er hitch is the best for shorty pickups.

Check out this web site for another option. http://www.fifthairborne.com/sidewinder_details.html
I just bought one and will be installing it shortly.

Re: SuperGlide or Manual

Superglide is a great hitch, I have one because at one time I had a SRW, CC, Short box 250 that pulled my trailer. Now I have a long bed truck but still had it installed again. The one problem that can be considered big in certain situations is the your trailer will be required to have the adapter put on the pin. I had mine welded on and at the same time had the guys put gussets on the front so I wouldn't get any curling at the front of the adapter plate from when I hitched up. The problem is if you are stuck on the side of the road and can't pull your trailer in with your rig, then the adapter plate may be a problem for getting your trailer towed off the road. Other than that and I think it is a little touchier to get the perfect height for hitch to pin to line up cause the pin likes to be a touch low so it pushes down on the hitch plate and slides in to latch, instead of just running it in and locking but I'm used to it now. There is no way I would have the installer drill and bolt so many holes to have that adapter plate put on.
