I have a '05 F550 4x4 and thinking about trading up to an '08, same truck. But one of the things I don't like about the 550s are the 19.5" tires/wheels. Not much of a choice in sizes, they seam to 'roadwalk' on my truck and if you have problems on the road, most tire stores don't have them in stock.
I've read here and there about some changeing the wheels to 22.5 Alcoas... What's up?? Where do you buy them?? What is the cost?? Ups?? Downs???
try ebay for many selling dealers. expensive. verrry heavy. no adapters out there for 10 lug to 10 lug so dont know of any options for 08's. rickson truck was supposed to come out with direct bolt-ons (which would be the only way i'd use them) but not sure they are set up for 10 lug. imaging would br hard on front end components. look awsome tho! good luck.

I have noticed that lots of trucks (utility trucks etc) that have 19.5" wheels carry a spare. I'm not sure if that is because of the difficulty in finding tires or just that they have the room to carry a spare.
I feel your pain, I switched from 20" split rims to 22.5" rims because I was worried about being out of the area and not being able to get a flat serviced. Now with the tubeless tires I can plug it myself if need be.

There are several sizes and brands available in 19.5 inch tires from the 225/70 up to 305/70. But they are commercial truck tires and to find them you will, in most instances, have to go to a commercial tire dealer like TDS ( http://www.tdstires.net/ ) or one of the brand specific truck tire centers. One of the problems with dedicated truck tires is they are designed to haul heavier weights and for longer mileage, which mean you tend to sacrifice ride comfort and traction. You will find the same caracteristics in the 22.5 inch sizes.
