Tekonsha Prodigy or Valley Odyssey Brake Controller?

Which of the two brake controllers would you recommend? Both use accelerometers for proportional braking. On paper, it would seem that the Valley Odyssey is superior, because it has more flexibility in installation both horizontally and vertically. Price is essentially the same. Reommendations and experience?

I can't speak about the other controller, no experience, but I've used my Prodigy for about a year now and am very happey with it's operation and simplicity.

Re: Tekonsha Prodigy or Valley Odyssey Brake Controller?

Not familiar with the Odyssey. I have been pulling for a couple of years with the Prodigy and it's the best controller I've ever had. I've been towing for over 30 years with all types of controllers. It's to be expected that the technology would improve and it stands to reason that there would be better systems in the future. However, the Prodigy was an easy install and it fits snugly in the cubby-hole on my dash.

Re: Tekonsha Prodigy or Valley Odyssey Brake Controller?

Got Tekonshas in the F250 and Excursion and recently put a Prodigy in the F350 and I like the Tekonsha better. For some reason the Tekonsha has way more braking power. Tweaked the Prodigy with no luck, perhaps it's a bad one?

After reading a hundred or so posts on the rvforum thought too that Prodigy was the best brake controller.

Sir: Tekonsha makes the Prodigy, as well as other models. Perhaps another Tekonsha product works better than the Prodigy?

Re: Tekonsha Prodigy or Valley Odyssey Brake Controller?

If I were buying a new brake controler 1st choice was a Brakesmart, which I don't think we can get anymore. 2nd would be the prodigy by Tekonsha.
I currently have a model of tekonsha's and it works but want to upgrade, I have done my homework and these are the two I would concider.

Never heard of a Valley Odyssey, not that its bad, just never heard anything on any RV site or in my travels. I wouldn't go with it just because I dont want to be a beta tester.
