I have just moved into the Houston area from Louisiana. What should the weight numbers be for my truck? My wife registered the truck and the papers say something like empty - 4,000 and cargo-1,000 gross-5,000. I am pretty sure that this is not right, but I wanted to know what it should be before I pursued this any further.
The truck is a 2002 F-350 CrewCab LWB, Dually, PSD.
Oh, our Toyota Sequoia shows a empty weight of 3,200.
Thanks for the help

As long as it has tags on it I don't care what it is. In Arlington, TX they still us 1/2 ton 3/4 ton 1 ton classifications. When the lady behind the counter asked for my weight I just said "somewhere between 185 and 195". Walked out with tags.

You only need two tools: WD-40 and Duct Tape. If it doesn't move and should, use the WD-40. If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.

It doesn't matter as long as you use it for personal or farm use only. If you decide to use it for commercial purposes or interstate commerce, then it might make a difference, but I doubt it as long as you have a pickup bed on it.
My registration says 6,000 empty and 1,500 payload, and the type vehicle is truck, equal to or less than one ton. Maybe if you had an F-250 regular-cab gasser with no options, it might weigh as little as 6,000 empty. But mine weighed 6,920 empty. Add me and Darling Wife and a few tools and our net payload is close to 1,500, so that part isn't too far off.
