Tow mirror question

I have a 2000 F-250 PSD Long bed. But they have the stock (lo profile) mirrors. Can I replace them with the newer telescoping tow mirrors without doing major re-work? Will the power mirror controls I have now work with the new mirrors? Or, should I just get the 'slip ons'? I don't have a fiv-er yet but am looking at getting one realllll sooon.

Re: Tow mirror question

I'm not 100% sure, but you should be able to mix and match the mirrors no problem. I would also think that the plug for the electric will match up too. You are just going to spend some $$$ for the mirrors.

Re: Tow mirror question

Yes you can change them. They did that to a truck at my work a while back.

Re: Tow mirror question

My current mirrors aren't heated. If I install the heated one's how do I get power to the mirror heaters? and, how much would you be asking (round figures)?

Re: Tow mirror question

option 1, Run the mirrors without the mirror heat.
option 2, Run a wire through the door and wire it to a switch or wire them to be on all the time like the trucks have them and tap into the power window or door locks for key on power.
The mirrors have 2 connectors, one is the round one that will plug into the same harness the power paddle mirrors use for adjusting them, the other connector is a square one for power and ground to the mirror heaters.
I will PM you on the asking price.
