There is a plug under the dash - pull the fuse box cover off under the steering wheel and it is located to the right of the go pedal (up a little higher). Truck should have come with an adapter. If not, you can get one for about 10 bucks. Get an adapter that matches your controller and you can just plug & play

Sorry, I dont mean to hijack, but here is what I did and it may help some people.
I bought my Prodegy TE90185 version 2.4 for $109 which is the best price I have ever seen. Looks like 2.6 is out now. I bought at PPL Motor Homes. Looks like they have it for $114 now.
I also bought the wire harnes for the Ford SD 96-8313 for $8.39.
The harnes was a simple plug into the controller under the dash near the gas peddle. Made it a quick release so no one would be stealing it as I could take it with me easily.
This controller is a 2, 4, 6, or 8 brake controller and is the best on the market IMHO.
Peace
You can also check out Brake Controllers at this site as they have a good selection, but they are a little more expensive.

I went through the same thing recently. Here's my thread and the answers that I got, they were a big help. It also contains a short write-up of my controller install...
A key picture... Left-click on the picture to enlarge it, notice a grey/brown connecter that is visible through a hole in the dash support brace in the upper-right-center of the picture (just below the yellow wire harness and above the multicolor wire harness). The grey is the truck connector that you must plug into, the brown is a controller pigtail already installed into the trucks connecter.
