Trailer Height

Ok, so I added a second AC unit to my 5th wheel trailer. I measured the height and was amazed that I'm at 13'2". So, now I wonder if I'm too high. My some of my trips, I somewhat remember seeing signs with warnings of 13'6". Does anyone know what the height of a semi and trailer is for comparison? Do you think my height is ok? Thanks Anthony

Re: Trailer Height

Maximum height for a standard semi-trailer and/or tractor is 13' 6" so you are 4" under that. It is a tall trailer but not that much taller than you had before the A/C unit addition, I imagine. You are legal.

Re: Trailer Height

13'6" in Canada too, which equals 4.1 meters, if I remember correctly. I'm from the old school and am still in Standard & Imperial measure.

Re: Trailer Height

Ouch, I guess I better not pull my trailer too far east! Our Raptor measures 13'10" to the top of the AC, but out here in the west we are allowed 14'....

Re: Trailer Height

In Iowa I think you have to get a permit to move something over 13'6". Mine measures 13'3" so I am ok under most overpasses. Just have to watch those low hanging tree branches and bridges in small towns.
