Travel Trailer list to right side

first TT I have owned - its a '93 and this past weekend I noticed that it list (??) to the right side - leans.

First, how big of a problem is this and what could be the cause. I repacked the wheel bearings last weekend and did not notice any problems in the leaf springs etc.

Thanks -

OH- the "black pipes" are leaking slightly - don't have the cash to replace them now, what can I use to plug the cracks ups?

Alex

Could be the way the weight is loaded in the trailer. Fridge, water heater, water tank tend to be heavy. You could try cleaning and gluing the cracks. The pipes arent that costly at Homedepot.

if it is fairly old you may be dealing with spring sag. Over time the springs will loose some of their strength just from supporting the weight of the trailer. If it is the passenger side has an added problem as all of the roads lean to that side to begin with. Get yourself a new set of springs (and bushings if it is a double eye suspension) and this should help unless there are frame or construction issues. O would also check for cracks in the frame of the trailer, the chassis are made really light so it could be needing some fab work also

Yeah, most camper trailers are heavier on one side or the other, causing the springs on the heavier side to depress more and more over time.

Instead of replacing all the springs, I'd replace only the ones on the low side. Any decent spring shop can look at your springs and determine which replacement springs you need. Or if worse comes to worst, they can make you a new main spring with the right weight capacity for your needs.

Of course if you have Dexter TorFlex trailer axles instead of springs, the answer is not so simple.
