I have nice 97 33ft Sandpiper double slide out bought new. When the sun comes out and when the weather is warm I will put a seal on the roof. The black rubber is showing. There is a load of diffrent sealers and I hate making decisisons on what and which to use........
Any way I have a leak in that thing at the left front corner. Ive sealed everythink I could find and sealed some areas that really didnt need any sealing with the silicone caulk. And I still have the leak in the same area behind the cabinets. It runs down the wall behind the cabinet and settles at the front of the cabinet causing the press wood to expand and fall apart. Though I I just bought a cover for the camper to cover it when not in use but I am still concerned about the leak say If I am travelling in a bad rain storm...What is the deal with that elusive leak???? My only theory is that water might entering the camper from another area and running down to the front left corner......But Ive caulked all the areas on the roof sides and windows... It just doesnt make sense....I need some ideas to cover......

Planned upgrades are a new and better turbo and larger exhaust pipes than the 21/2s that are already under the rig/ would like a 6 spd tranny but dont know if that is a feasable or smart investment yet.

It might be worth checking your clearance lights at the front of your fiver. I had a similar leak on a previous fiver that drove me crazy for a while until I figured it out. One of the clearance lights wasn't sealed and was leaking into the front wardrobe. Good luck

Ditto what the last guy said about clearance lights. Also make sure the TV antenna area isn't the source. Often water leaks will show up on the inside several feet from the actual entry point.
My owner's manual says not to use silicone on the roof. The local RV place said it would be around $200 to remove the old caulk and re-seal everything on my 27' TT. I figure that'll be money well spent.
Ditto on the antenna. The little boot over the CAT5 cable rode up and let some water come in mine.
Something that works much better then silicone is Sika Flex. It is a marine product and works very well. You probably thought about it as well but maybe one of the places that you thought you sealed might not be? As silicone is slippery and might not be sticking where or over a previous calking? If you redo and area sand alittle to roughen it up. Yes I would vote for water capillerating down electrical wires and leaking? Hope you find the leak.
When prepping for sealing with caulk in a high exposure area, give a final wipe down to the surfaces using M.E.K. (Methyl Ethyl Ketone) before laying your beads. Inexpensive, evaporates fast and urethane and silicone based products will bond like steel to the surfaces.
