When to use Tow/Haul mode?

I have yet to tow with the Excursion('05) but next week I will be towing my Bronco on a trailer to Bloomsburg for the 4x4 jamboree. The trailer weighs about 8K loaded, I'm guessing I should hit the tow/haul button since most of the driving will be in the mountains.

Re: When to use Tow/Haul mode?

Whenever you don't want to bog the engine down and don't want it to downshift under full load.

Basically approaching a climb that you know it will shift on - just hit the button prior to getting on it.

These engines are ok at 2500 - 3000 rpms - so you'll be ok - and you'll prolly get a little better at it.

Take 'er easy
