where can i find the factory trailer wiring connector under the dash?

I bought the prodigy and the wire harness for a ford. The only plug that i found that looks like the one i need is tucked in tight and feels like it is mounted in place. This connector is to the right of the steering column and is attached to some metal that is in the area of the wallet pocket on the dash. Where do i find this plug. Also from there, do i just plug and go or is there more to this installation. Thanks. I am not going to use it until tuesday, so i got a couple of days to figure it out. THANKS

That is the location that I found the plug for the controller. See if the plug fits.
If I remember right, there are two plugs in that area. Only one will fit.

Re: where can i find the factory trailer wiring connector under the dash?

I had to take the screws on the bottom of the panel and trash bag holder loose to reach my hand up there to reach the plug. Mine was also wire tied to the brace.

Re: where can i find the factory trailer wiring connector under the dash?

well, fulltimers photo is perfect. That is the plug i am talking about. But it is attached to that brace. I will see if it is wire tied as well. I kind of would like to free it up. Can i get it loose or is that futile? Thanks

Re: where can i find the factory trailer wiring connector under the dash?

If you open the panel you can use a small pair of dikes or a pair of line mans scissors to cut it loose.

Under Cubby and inside cubby and both popular options. Or for something a little far out, get an old shool astray and jam the bugger inside

Ozhoo:

Just want to add my appreciation for the FullTimer's photo. It helped me to find the receptacle easily!
