will this be enough trailer?

Hey guys,
I'm looking at a 22' tilt bed gooseneck with 2 5300lbs torsion axles. Will this be enough trailer to handle my tractor (8160lbs) plus equipment?

10,600 pounds combined GAWR. Add 20 percent to get the real GVWR of around 12,720.

It depends on the weight of the empty, naked trailer, and the weight of the equipment.

12,720 mius 8,160 = 4,560 max weight of the naked trailer and any equipment you have on it. Sounds like that's not quiet enough trailer for your needs. Probably for less than $1,000 you can upgrade to two 7,000-pound axles (with brakes on each axle) and LT235/85R16G tires, and you'll have a much better shot of not being overloaded.

No. I don't think it is. A trailer that size will probably weigh around 3000 lbs. If I were you I'd go with a safe number and get a trailer with a GVWR of 14000 lbs. You'll work a 10,000 GVWR trailer too hard and won't get much life out of it running it at GVWR or over all the time.
