Wiring help

Ok, I tried to post this last night, but my computer kept giving me a hard time.

My truck is setup for a 4way trailer end. I recently purchased a trailer w/ trailerbrakes that has a 7way end. I need to convert from 4way to 7.

I bought this to make the conversion
http://www.etrailer.com/Merchant2/me...egory_Code=VWH

However I am having trouble hooking it up. My truck has 7wires that run all the way down the frame of the truck and goes into a male end of a wiring plug (plug A). From there I have a female end of the wiring harness (plug B) that has 4 wires and goes into my 4way trailer end. The 7way adapter I purchased has a round plug (plug C) that will not plug into plug A. I need some sort of an adapter that will plug C into A.

My friend has a F350 that came w/ a 7way trailer plug and I looked at his truck lastnight. His has the same round plug (c) mine does, but has an adapter that goes from C to A.

Is this somethign I will have to go to Ford and get, or can I go to my local auto parts store and get it so I don't pay a fortune?

Thanks,

Jason

Re: Wiring help

Does your truck have a trailer brake controller mounted in the cab? Should be under or in the dash.

Re: Wiring help

It is wired for one, however it doesn't currently have one. I just purchased one, and it will be here soon. The plug is located under the dash just behind the radio correct?

Re: Wiring help

Update your signature so we know what we are talking about with regards to year model truck and so forth. You won't get 4 wires to do what 7 are needed to do.
