Ya that little info was for you, thought you might enjoy seeing what it used to be speced at when it was new.
You can prolly find a spacer at a junk yard somewhere if your interested in going that route but other than that you would need to go to the dealership to get those peices and might as well let someone install the governorspring for you unless you fell comfortable enough to tear the back of the pump off(the governor) and put it in yourself.
DieselRod, in the original post I got the idea that you were asking about the B-model engines. I hope that CatDiesel will correct me if I am wrong, but I thought that the main difference in those motors (400B vs. 425B) was the Air-To-Air aftercooler that was put in front in the radiator. If I remember correctly, there were some C-models that had electronic pumps (PEEC), and some that had mechanical pumps. CatDiesel, please educate me if I am in error.
yea I was curious about the air to air also if there was any difference in them.

Corvette Dash, 17 gauges, 8" black stacks, 63" flat top---> 36" sitting here waiting for paint. 1.305 Million Miles.
I don't know what I am doing, I just know I don't have time to do it.
You have failed to tell us what you think of the truck the way it is. You stated that you were going to see how it pulled before you decided what needed to be done. Well, how does it run?
ohh. sorry. I drove it home two weeks ago this sunday, 250 miles and it ran great no weird noises, oil pressure was high 50's temps were normal, would build 15 psi boost just bobtailing and would pass cars like thay were standing still. have not pulled a load with it yet kinda dragging my feet on getting tabs for it, then we'll see how it does, but I prolly still will tweek it a bit anyway, cuz I can. Some had jacket water aftercooler and some had air to air in the B-model versions. Depended on how old they were and such......dont get me to lying to much on that subject though I dont hardly remember without looking. Everything electronic for me anymore.
when the "PEEC" came out there was still a mechanical "C" model available. The "PEEC" was sold on better fuel mileage and engine control. Actually the good ol' 3406 C Mechanical was available ALL the way up to 1997 under special order from a ruck dealership. Theres a few out there that shock people when they find out its a 1997 model Pete witha Factory 3406C mechanical under the hood.
Man........looking for a "water jacket" aircooler is really getting too me..! I have put mine in for repairs but just incase it can't be repaired, I'm looking for another. It comes off of my 85' 359 exted hood, 3406B 425 Cat, 15 dbl. over with 355 rears........Looked in my area..dried out, burned out Texas...with no luck. Well I did get one but it was all clogged up & can't be fixed. Got any ideas or know of one..? ENGINE #7FB20346
