99' Dodge ISB, intermittent

I've got a buddy with a 99' Ram with the Cummins motor. He complains of an intermittant miss at idle, after the motor has warm-ed up. Any advice or tips? I know the obvious answer is to buy a Ford, he's thick headed. Thanks in advance,

Justin

Check codes, but it's most likely a dying VP injection pump. Lift pump, injection pump failure is typical for 24v Dodges, believe me, I know.

Well, he's prelaced the IP once already so I'm sure he'll be thrilled to hear about this... Anyways, does anyone know what this might be specifically? Thanks again...

I would recommend asking over at dieselram.com to get better advice than you can get here. Its best to diagnose exactly what is wrong because as he already knows injector pumps are not cheap. It would suck for him to replace it and the problem be something else.

Cummins northwest has a computer plugs right into the injection pump. It runs off the computer instead of the ecm. Thing will tell you in a hurry if its the injection pump.
