best all around bus motor?

My church is looking to purchase a bus soon. I'm trying to research which engine would better suit us. t444e, dt466 or 5.9 cummins. those are the three engines offered in our price range. I read the thread about the engines in the archives. I personally lean towards the 5.9 cummins, I'm more familiar with that motor(pickups and case equipment). looking for more input.

thanks

Nick

Depending on how heavy you're planning on going. For best all around performance, reliability(except the 04-06 with EGR), and heavy hauling, the DT466. For good performance, a little better mpg than the 466, reliability(unless it's a 98-03), and hauling under 20k pounds, the Cummins B 5.9. The T444E(powerstroke) falls in last place.

As for a school bus motor, the DT466 is pretty much bombproof. Don't overlook the other options International has out there, such as the DT360 and DT408. The DT360 is the same displacement as the B series Cummins, but it's a beefier motor.
