Changfa & DEK diesel engines?

Found these 2 different brands on ebay lastnight for around 300-500 bucks brand new around 5-8hp diesel engine. Looking to put them on my parking lot blowers (billygoat & Littlewonder) I have 5 push blowers that I use for blowing off parking lots at apartment complexes and industrial sites. 3 of my 5 parking lot blowers are older than 5 years and the engines have crapped out.

Does anyone know if the 2 small engines above would last alot longer than the gas engines that have came on my push blowers (8hp B&S & 5hp honda)

Being so cheap I wasent sure if they are worth anything. Im getting around 1,300-1,800 hrs. out of my gas engines and would like to get around 3K. Both engines look like Yanmar single cylinder engines and also mention that most parts cross for the DEK diesels.

Re: Changfa & DEK diesel engines?

I would be leary of them especially if it is your livelyhood that is depending on them. I would bet you they are cheap yanmar knockoffs made in china. I would just stick with good old B&S engines, I have seen them take more abuse then they should and still rattle along.

Re: Changfa & DEK diesel engines?

Go to www.utterpower.com . The man that runs that site has some quality Changfa engines. Some of these Chinese diesels are good, and some are real bad. Only buy from folks that have a good rep. A good Changfa can last a good long time, though they can be noisy.

DEK is what we have used for 5 yrs

We have used the same dek engines for five years every day in our slabjacking business and they are still going strong. We used to use Kohlers and replaced them every 2-3 years. We bought a bunch of the 10 HP ones recently and are selling them for $349 each. If interseted, go to Diesel engines forsale
