Cummins 855 series injection question

I've been reading up on the old inline six 855 series. Is the injection pump on one similar/identical as the others? As in would a NTC 300 injection pump work on a NTC 290 or 350? I'm guessing maybe w/ adjustment it could be made to work.... IF they are physically the same ones w/ different ajustments...

And how much is a rebuilt injection pump worth? I saw one a while back online, clearance, but didn't think it was cheap....but what do I know.

Re: Cummins 855 series injection question

Yup anything from the old NH250s to the big KTAs will ALL interchange just more or less fuel, btw stock cummins pumps are WAY underated powerwise, always have m turned up a few percent my favorite fuel system no timing just plain simple 3 bolts plastic jont key throttle and lines i think the last we paid was like 300 for a reman from our buddy in el paso, 02 cents worth,

Josh

Re: Cummins 855 series injection question

Yep, a 855 is easy to work on too. i think the last pump i bought around $350 from a diesel shop. the parts to turn one up( button and springs) are real cheap. around 20-30 bucks. what year or cpl number ya got?.......

Well, two of the three I can get the cpl # off the engine tag. The third is missing the tag

Ah, so the price of them isn't really that 'bad'. I saw one 'clearance' and they wanted $300...... (they claimed the price was over 1K, but it was a Cummins remanufactured pump).
