well, if it's not from anywhere obvious, might be from the turbo. not real sharp on the detroit's, but i remember a couple of guy's who were on here that were. i do remember about 12 years or so back, the outfit i used to hire to move my heavier equipment had a international with a 8v92. it was a very stout truck, and in the time period i used them they had no issues with it. about the time i bought my own rig however, they did have some issues arrise with the engine loading up at idle. if you let it idle more then about 10mins or so, it would start blue smokeing a bit. driver said the turbo was leaking oil internaly, hence the smoke. he also said it was getting bad enough to leak externally also. one thing that i remember him also saying, if you let it idle to long, it would surge real bad when you went to take off. easeing into the throttle would prevent this, or simply not letting it idle very long. long story short, about a year latter i noticed the truck sitting for a spell and asked the head mechanic why. he said they never got around to fixing that turbo, and after some extended ideling, a worker got in it to park it [not the usual driver] . well, he started off gasing on it, and the engine surged an ran away. it blew up! not sayin this is your issue, but beware.
