I don't understand the diesel price thing. We are up to 2.01 again where I am at (Indiana) and it seems to be creeping up. Maybe I just didn't notice it so much when I was younger, but it sure seems like the jump we've seen in the last couple of years has been HUGE! I recall when the WTC 's went down, the pumps suddenly went to like 1.50 and everyone was lined up like it was the end of the world or someth'n. And I thought 1.50 was ridicously high! Now, just a few years later, 2.00 is becoming the norm! I don't know about ya'll, but I ain't got a 25-50% pay increase over the last 5 years... I reckon somebody has though. I'm not angry at any one person, I just don't understand it.
My biggest fear is having to give up my baby, when the babies come 'cause I can't afford to haul them around in a safe truck anymore... now where did I put that ad for the rice burner store...
Just returned from Washington State, through Oregon and Idaho. Those states are all $2.65/gal. It is $2.29/gal in Utah, TODAY. ($1.99 3 weeks ago.) Talked to a guy who spoke with some oil dude friend. We are getting it socked to us, because there are now so MANY more diesels on the road. He said Utah will be at $3.00 this summer. (Currently Texas is at $1.80. Go figure!!) Just plan on making your mortgage payment at the pump!!
Sheesh...y'all got it pretty easy...up here in Washington (state with several refineries an hour to the north, we are paying just about $2.00 for gas, and $2.50+ for diesel...

What I can't figure out is why diesel can cost about the same price or more than gasoline. It is my understanding that diesel takes fewer gallons of crude and easer to produce than gas. If this trend continues I will consider going back to gas.

I bought my first diesel in 2000. Price at the pumps was $1.35/gallon.
$2.25 sucks...and it's going to get worse.

I bought mine in 1999 and was paying, are you ready..............
89 cents/gallon!
It's a joke. The oil companies are just ripping everyone off. I may just have to limit my driving. I never thought I'd ever say that!

we are doing something militarily that requires a little bit more diesel then the military was usuing back in 2000.
we are preparing to go low sulfer.
home heating fuel supplies start driving diesel up in late summer till spring every year that i can remember...
of course with 50 doolar a barrel crude....2 bux is where its at.
most likely diesel in high density areas will stay 2-2.25 a gallon and gas will go 2.50 or so this summer till fall.
whats crap is here in detroit, where i buy my fuel it is 1.97...but when i drive up to woodward and davison its 2.41.
and they only do it because they can.
i wouldnt be complainin if it was my pockets getting the profits...

We are paying anywhere from $2.17 - $2.47/gal here in S Florida. When I bought MY PSD I thought the fuel would be cheaper b/c it was diesel & cheaper to refine, boy was I wrong!

"Theres never time to do it right but theres always time to do it over" - So true
I don't know if it's true or not but I talked to a guy on the CB the other nite who was explaining the low sulfer requirements to me & said part of the higher diesel prices now is the producer's way of recovering the retooling cost in the refineries to make the switch to low/no sulfer fuel by 2007.
