Re: Diesel Fuel Prices

I'll have to check out those two places. Place i usually go to was $1.89 2 weeks ago then $1.99 then $2.08. I will be checking other stations a lot more. If I have to drive a little furthe to pay $.10 less it's definately worth it.

Off topic: By the way you guys should go the Outlaw Fun Run at Denton Dragway on April, 16th http://www.outlawdra.com/
I've got college orientation that day, but hopefully I'll make it.

Re: Diesel Fuel Prices

High $$ per barrel, military usage, seasonal, etc, can't explain the vast difference that only recently (6-8 months) has caused diesel to become MORE expensive than gasoline.

Thats virtually unheard of

Its gotta be greed, and, BECAUSE THEY CAN

Re: Diesel Fuel Prices

I got a quote today for a 1000 gallons of off road red dyed diesel for my business, $2.30 a gallon, last week it was $1.71. My supplier told me Portland Or has enough diesel to make it until Friday, the only other big supply is in Bend, Or. on 20 rail cars and it is being hoarded. Scary stuff.....

On road diesel here will be over $2.80 before the weekend.

Re: Diesel Fuel Prices

Well, I'd offer my opinions on the matter, but I'd hate to get such an interesting thread locked.

Nothing stimulates the brain cells like 20 guys telling me how much diesel costs in their locale.

Re: Diesel Fuel Prices

*This is just a cut/paste from the other diesel price thread*

Another "weigh-in" from Orygun...I looked hard to find $2.64, later that day it went to $2.69 and the station up the road was $2.75. My BIG ***** is the difference between gas and diesel. The same station that had diesel @ $2.75 had regular unleaded for $2.05! 70 cents a gallon difference? I could drive a gasser that got 10 mpg and it would be CHEAPER to drive than my diesel. ***-over!

All this is in central Oregon...soon to be called Northern California...

20 rail cars in Bend huh? They're not keeping our prices down!

Re: Diesel Fuel Prices

We went from 2.60 yesterday to 2.69 today in Spokane. Probably see 2.75 here is a few days. I did get a pay increase for starting swing-shift only to get it gobbled up by higher costs to get to work. This sucks. I need another raise

Re: Diesel Fuel Prices

Ok y'all 94 red beauty spelled it out when he said "takin, it where the sun don,t shine"...That's one of the basic problems, sittin' around and "takin' it where the sun don't shine" instead of "takin' the bull by the horns" & doin' somethin'. In other words until regular folks--translate: consumers,you&me--make up their minds to do more than gripe, things won't improve. Why should they? Unless oil companies & politicians (is there a difference?) hear from real people (voters/constituents) that they're "mad as hell and aren't going to take it anymore" they will think it's ok to continue to do what they're doing...raisin' prices!!! Spend a few "internet minutes" to contact your state & federal legislators, they all have e-mail addresses,& tell 'em what you think!! It might surprise you how much power the "little people" really have.

I posted this several days ago.
[ QUOTE ]
I wonder, if everyone contacted their Congressperson and Senators and complained, that maybe something could be done! Am I just wishful thinking or is it possible? Would any of those over paid politicians really want to get involved? We're getting ripped off and that's all there is to it. The oil companies have an monopoly and they're putting the squeeze on us. And Washington has not said one single word about it! Maybe it's time we started complaining to the right people, the people we elect to represent us! I for one will call both my Congressperson and Senator first thing tomorrow. I hope everyone else will do the same.
But when you call you'll only talk to a Congressional aid. But they'll listen to you're complaint and then you'll get a letter from your Representative explaining yada, yada, yada. Contrary to popular belief, they do not need to receive thousands of calls or letters. Just handful of letters or even 10 or 20 calls will get their attention very quickly! Call your Representatives. Do it today! Do it now! Otherwise nothing will change.

[/ QUOTE ]

I prefer calling and talking to someone in person but e-mail is just as effective. Just as long as you do it.
