DIY bypass oil filtration - Diesel Forum

I trying to put together a DIY bypass oil filtration system ( on Ford IDI 7.3) . I have a couple of remote filter heads that have a 3/4-16 threaded nipple . However , the filter of choice ( Baldwin B50 - 2 micron ) has a 5/8-18 thread . I am looking for an adapter nipple if readily available so I can use the base I have or otherise an low cost base that fits .

I plan to put a tee in line with the sending unit for my oil source to the filter and return back to the pan - Is this Ok ? - thanks

I'm no expert but that pressured oil is filtered and goes to the engine for lubrication of bearings and such. Do not dump back into pan. Take a look at installation instructions on commercial units.
There are in and out ports for bypass lube filters on a stock PSD.
