Well after looking around the internet I found this little bit about Cummins cutting 100 jobs at the 6.7 plant due to Dodge halting production of the pickup.
I hate to hear of more layoffs in the Auto industry, I had not heard that Dodge was halting production of their Ram trucks, not good news at all.

The truck buying public is turning away from $50,000+ four-door pickups as staus symbols? I'm surprised!

Still seeing a ton of Superduties and Cummins here. I was at a stoplight in downtown Ft. Worth the other day. Out of the ten vehicles there 9 were pickups, 6 were either Superduties or Cummins. I kinda felt sorry for the guy in the Honda.

You only need two tools: WD-40 and Duct Tape. If it doesn't move and should, use the WD-40. If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.

I am sure the guy in the honda feels just fine, everytime he fills up and gets 36 mpg and does the same driving as most of the pickups. I know I feel just fine getting my 36 mpg.
Yeah I always keep a gas meiser around for commuting or grocery getting. I actually chuckle at the people paying for all that fuel and depreciation so they can drive their status symbols.
The market up here feels pretty slow right now too. Id be surprised if the car salesman werent eating beans and rice right now. Gonna be a long winter for them I reckon.

What engine does your s-10 have that gets 36 mpg? I could barely get that on the highway with my '92 civic si that I had years ago.

being a texan,i can say, trucks dominate around here. folks that dont need them, have them. i tell ya,something is wrong when high school kids are buying/being bought 45+k diesel pickups, and dont do a darn thing but drive them up and down the road. any ways, i have definitly seen a drop in new hd truck sales[3/4,1ton] trucks. my buisness has drop considerbly this year as well[asphalt/concrete],mainly due to materials cost. the consumer without a doubt,is feeling the pain of the high oil prices.

My S10 isnt my only transportation. The truck gets about 25mpg use to get around 30 but she is getting old and worn out. My 98 Neon gets 34 to 37 depending on if I am running the ac. The wife's 06 Sentra will get 40 on the highway. Who needs a hybrid.
